Paris is widely considered to be the world center of gastronomy, and as a Paris Campus student you will not just have the opportunity to create amazing dishes in our state-of-the-art kitchens, you’ll also have free rein to sample the best of the city’s food and drink offering.
Off-campus workshops to augment your learning
Your École Ducasse program features a wealth of practical training, but if there are other skills you’d like to acquire, Paris offers almost unlimited opportunities to join workshops dedicated to making chocolate truffles, chocolate bars, artisan pizzas and much more.
Restaurant Le Procope
opened in 1686, this is Paris’ oldest café still in operation. Located where it was founded, in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, this legendary restaurant has stood the test of time, revisiting the classics of Parisian gastronomy with finesse.
Tour & tasting at the Artemus brewery
Established in 2015, this micro-brewery is located at Limeil-Brévannes in Val-de-Marne. Its range of beers includes the pale ale Isabeau and the wheat beer Aloha.
The Alain Ducasse Chocolate Manufacture
Enjoy a gourmet and authentic immersion into French chocolate-making expertise as you discover the bean-to-bar universe, in which every step of production is carried out by hand.
As you’d expect from a major international capital, and recent host to the Olympics, Paris has an almost unlimited supply of sports to either participate in or spectate at. The current European champion soccer club, Paris St. Germain, are located in the city, while tennis fans can enjoy France’s Grand Slam tournament at Roland-Garros plus the indoor Paris Masters every October.
Jean de Nève Stadium
Situated in neighboring Vélizy-Villacoublay, this complex contains a soccer field, boules lyonnaises court, and multi-sport court (handball, basketball, skateboarding). Also in Vélizy-Villacoublay is Robert Wagner Stadium, featuring a soccer field and running track.
Piscine Guy Bey
Meudon’s municipal aquatic center features a 50m sports pool with diving area, as well as a large solarium with deckchairs.
Fitness Park
This gym and fitness center is located in Vélizy-Villacoublay, featuring cross-training, cardio training, bodybuilding, powerlifting and biking.
On Air Gym
A 1,500 sq. m facility dedicated to fitness and sports, this gym incorporates specialized areas for cardio training, weight training, cross training, free weights, and boxing. It is located in Vélizy-Villacoublay.
FC Meudon 31
If you want to support your local soccer team while at Paris Campus, FC Meudon 31 play in Division 3 of the Paris League Ile de France. Learn more.
Beyond campus life, Meudon and its neighbouring areas offer a rich mix of culture, history, and leisure, all easily accessible to students.
Whether you’re looking for a quiet walk in the forest, a dose of local art, or simply a place to shop and unwind, there’s plenty to explore close to home.
Markets
There are several popular markets within easy reach of Paris Campus students, including Mail, Mozart and Louvois Markets.
IKEA
Located in the Vélizy 2 shopping center, IKEA Vélizy offers a wide range of furniture, decorations, and home solutions. Perfect if you need additional furnishings for your student accommodation.
Rodin Museum
Meudon was home to the great sculptor Auguste Rodin for the last two decades of his life. His house is now a museum, which incorporates famous pieces including The Thinker (which sits atop Rodin’s tomb), plus a large plaster cast model for perhaps his most famous work, The Kiss.
Hangar Y Meudon
The world’s first airship hangar, Hangar Y was built in 1878. After being left empty for around 40 years it has now been reborn as a cultural and events center, featuring art exhibitions in its imposing gallery space, plus a 9-hectare park, a restaurant and workshop.
UGC Vélizy Cinema
Located in the Vélizy 2 mall, UGC Vélizy Cinema is a modern and comfortable multiscreen cinema showcasing a wide selection of movies, with something for all tastes.
Meudon State Forest
A haven for walkers, hikers and cyclists, this is the largest forested area in Hauts-de-Seine and includes several natural ponds. It is protected and maintained by France’s National Forest Office.
With excellent transport connections to central Paris, École Ducasse students have ample opportunity to explore the ‘City of Light’.
Major destinations such as the Louvre, Eiffel Tower and Champs-Élysées are obvious choices, but here are some other attractions to consider.
Lambinet Museum (Versailles)
You’ll know Versailles for the spectacular palace located there, but this richly stocked museum is also worth visiting if you want to learn more about the art and history of the city.
Flea markets
Paris’ flea markets are legendary, offering all types of objects at prices to suit every budget. Saint-Ouen-Sur-Seine, in the city’s northern suburbs, is the premier destination, featuring the largest concentration of antique and second-hand dealers in the world.
Luxembourg Gardens
These beautiful gardens regularly appear among lists of the most romantic places to visit in Paris. A 25 hectare oasis in the heart of the city, the gardens are a delight to walk through. If you visit, don’t miss the spectacular Medici Fountain.
Marché des Enfants Rouges
One of Paris’ oldest food markets, this gastronomic highlight in the micro-neighborhood known as Haut Marais is packed with traders offering fresh produce, while also being home to superb restaurants and cafés.
